Ross Mathews and his husband, Dr. Wellinthon García-Mathews, published their first book together this week. It’s a children’s book inspired by their own wedding. Illustrated by Tommy Doyel, Tío & Tío focuses on two young brothers who travel to Mexico to act as ring bearers at their gay uncle’s wedding. The story explores the theme of taking on responsibilities and celebrating love and family. The duo, who married in 2022 in Puerto Vallarta, appeared on CBS Mornings on Wednesday to promote the book.

The rise in antibacterial resistance to common antibiotics has led to the growth of drug-resistant forms of gonorrhea, sometimes referred to as “super gonorrhea.” At the moment, just a handful of antibiotics stop the bacteria replicating. Health experts have worried for some time what might happen if a new form of gonorrhea develops that doesn’t respond to our current drugs. A teacher, who happens to be gay and has autism, has gone viral with his clapback against Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. spoke yesterday at a news conference on autism. RFK Jr. said the condition was a growing and “preventable” “epidemic” in the US. He says he wants to quickly identify potential environmental causes or toxins that he believes are fuelling the increase in autism. His views have been criticized by many experts in the field.
