    If the indications from polling are accurate, it could be several days before we have a complete picture of the results of the 2024 presidential election. According to elections officials in several states, the reasons for any delay in unofficial results can vary. High numbers of absentee or mail-in ballots top the list, especially in states where the law prevents those ballots from being processed until some point on Election Day or until polls have closed.
