I’ve been a fan of the iLouds since day one, the first iteration being more of a box-shaped single unit that delivered monster sound for its size, and evolving to the iLoud Micro Monitors that set became a cult favorite for their small size and impressive performance. I still remember pulling the original Micros out of the box, expecting decent desktop speakers, and being completely blown away by how they sounded more like compact reference monitors than anything in their class.

Story: Luka (Jack Lowden) is an alcoholic, and his sponsor James (Martin Freeman), is helping him through the 12 steps. They start building up trust and a rapport, but is that enough for when they reach the fifth step, which is about confessing to things you've done wrong? Video transcript: I wanted to see The Fifth Step at Soho Place, having seen it up in Dundee for, well, three reasons. One, I loved the play the first time around. I always love to look for disruptors in the audio space; whether it’s speakers, headphones, or other components, there is always something exciting about brands that approach things differently and put it all on the line. Huh?

It’s hard to say when Kraftwerk will stop touring, so you try to see them every chance you get before they hang it up. One of my biggest regrets was not seeing The Grateful Dead in the early nineties when Jerry was still alive, and they were doing their last tours. The Dead were culturally akin to what was happening with the early rave scene, but they were a bit more psychedelic. However, I just always made an excuse not to go.

Roland is throwing a worldwide celebration this week, and honestly, it’s the kind of party only beatmakers could dream up. The iconic SP-404—yep, that chunky little box that helped shape the sound of underground hip-hop, lo-fi, and electronic music—is turning 20. To mark the occasion, Roland dropped a monster update for the SP-404MKII, teamed up with Serato, and set off a global chain of 404 Day events. Whether you’re a bedroom producer or a seasoned stage slayer, this one’s for you.
