Adam Njie Jr., a 6-foot-3 guard who played last season at Iona, announced his commitment to the Dayton Flyers on Friday. Njie averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 assists and 2.9 rebonds per game last season as a freshman. He averaged 29.3 minutes in 32 games, making 27 starts. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Ibrahim averaged 6.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in 31 games as a sophomore at North Dakota. She won the Summit League Defensive Player of the Year award, averaging 2.5 blocks in conference play. She blocked nine shots in one game against North Dakota State. ”Fatima has grown so much in this last year and shown how much of an impact she can have on our team,” coach Mallory Bernhard said in a press release.

When Jordan visited UD on Sunday and Monday with Gene and his mom Jenny, Gene knew what they were looking for in a program. “We’ve been through this a few times now,” Gene said Wednesday, “and we’re always trying to find the right fit for him.”Gene’s familiarity with Dayton coach Anthony Grant helped this time. Gene played at Florida International University for Shakey Rodriguez, who coached Grant at Miami Senior High School. Gene was the first recruit signed by Rodriguez in 1995.

Jack is the second of four Flyers who entered the transfer portal this spring to find a new home. Malachi Smith committed to Connecticut on Monday. Marvel Allen and Hamad Mousa have not announced new destinations. Jack, a 6-foot-11 forward from Port Alberni, B.C., will play closer to home at Pacific, located in Stockton, Calif. Pacific plays in the West Coast Conference. It finished 9-24 last season and has suffered five straight losing seasons. Pacific has nine players in the transfer portal.
