Nottingham’s Bloodworm are headlining The Garibaldi Hotel this week. The trio of singer and guitarist George Curtis, bassist Chris Walker and drummer Euan Stevens have recently been supporting Pale Blue Eyes on their UK tour and are set to play at Dot To Dot, Splendour and Focus Wales festivals later this year. In February they opened for High Vis in Nottingham and the band kicked off 2025 at the Rockaway Beach festival.

Award winning Bristol hip-hop act The Scribes are returning to Northampton this weekend to headline Lay It Down at The Lab. The Scribes mixture of beatboxing, off the cuff freestyling, crowd participation and genre-spanning music has seen the trio become festival favourites across the UK. In recent years, they’ve played at the likes of Glastonbury, WOMAD, Isle Of Wight, Boomtown, Latitude, Shambala and Wireless.

Muddiman is set to release ‘Sea Shells’ next week – with the guitar-driven track serving both an ode to the planet and a provocative commentary on environmental issues. First and second year students from the University of Northampton took to the stage at The Black Prince at the end of last month as part of their degree course. Nine student bands performed at the Abington Square music venue which over the years has hosted acts from across the world as well as homegrown talent including Mae Stephens, Billy Lockett and That Joe Payne.
