Discount store chain B&M announced they have agreed to save up to 51 of Wilko’s 400 stores in a rescue deal worth £13million. However, around 350 stores remain at risk as well as thousands of jobs. The first round of store closures will take place next week with 24 branches closing on September 12 and another 28 stores to close just two days later. The mass store closures will lead to more than 1,000 redundancies.
