Her first screen role came appearing alongside her parents in the 1938 adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol when just 13 years old. But it was Lassie (1958-1964) and Lost in Space (1965-1968) where she became a famous TV mother. “I applied my own maternal instinct in both of these shows,” she explained.
