    Poole College of Management professor Ram Janakiraman has been honored with a Distinguished Professorship. He is the first ever R. Randall Rollins Distinguished Professor. Distinguished Professorships acknowledge Poole faculty who are among the top scholars in their fields. They are created using generous gifts from supporters of the college and include matching state funds. The funding is used to support research activities.     This is technically the second Hallmark movie I've watched for Jingle Hell, but given that the first one was less a self-contained movie and more a feature length episode of Signed, Sealed, Delivered, A Biltmore Christmas is functionally the first.

    Before I get to my Jingle Hell review, indulge me for a second: My mom was a huge fan of Ally McBeal back when that was the hottest show on television. Robert Downey Jr. was on the show in the latter seasons during the nadir of his battles with substance use. One day I saw my mom watching an episode of the show starring him after he was fired in an extremely public manner.

    Cupid for Christmas acknowledges right up front that it's weird having Cupid connected to Christmas, but between the good enough explanation and the mission of the movie, it's … fine. But it also got me thinking about the actual place these Generic Christmas Jingle Hell movies have in showbusiness, outside the red and green sweaters. Broad strokes of the plot: Ruby is a demigod who wants to take over Cupid's role when the god of love retires, but she's not particularly good at her job.
