While deaths from cancer are decreasing in the United States, the number of patients with newly diagnosed cancers continues to grow at an alarming rate. More than 2 million Americans are projected to receive a new diagnosis of cancer in 2024. Rates of cancers — including breast, prostate, uterine, pancreatic, liver, kidney, and skin — are growing, and some cancers — colon, cervical, and oral — are rising in younger adults.

Artist Salvatore Del Deo walked around the shack, right rear, with the aid of his son Romolo Del Deo, on June 27, 2023, in Provincetown, Mass. The 95-year-old painter and his family who were threatened with eviction from their dune shack at the Cape Cod National Seashore in Mass., have won a reprieve. Lawyers for the painter worked out a deal with federal officials allowing Del Deo and his family to continue living in the shack for another five years.

A Massachusetts woman has been indicted by a county grand jury in the killing of her three children in what prosecutors have described as a planned assault while her husband was out. The 32-year-old was charged Friday with murder and strangulation. A lawyer for the woman previously said that she may have been suffering from post-partum psychosis - something the prosecution rejected. Investigators said that on Jan. 24, police were called to her home and three children were found in the basement.
