Charlie Appleby is confident Desert Flower is the one to beat in next month's Betfred 1,000 Guineas after the unbeaten ante-post favourite flourished in a morning workout on the Rowley Mile on Wednesday. Appleby has never won the fillies' Classic but shared his belief that his yard has never had a candidate as strong as Desert Flower, who enjoyed a perfect juvenile campaign last season, culminating in a dominant five-and-a-half-length win in the Fillies' Mile over the Guineas course and distance.

Study Of Man, who stands at Almeric's owner Kirsten Rausing's Lanwades Stud, was represented by a subsequent Group 1 winner at the Craven meeting in the shape of Kalpana last year.
