    Brian Owens, 34, of Holyhead, Anglesey, violently attacked police after they were called to an incidentA man pulled out a clump of a police officer's hair in a violent assault. Brian George Owens hit the first officer in the face before strangling another officer. Owens, from Maes Hyfryd, Holyhead, was later arrested and detained. At a Mold Crown Court hearing he pleaded guilty to a number of offences including assaults and threats to kill.

    A woman has been found guilty of murdering her partner in a "drunken temper". Joanna Katarzyna Wronska, 52, of Wrexham, stabbed Marcin Koziol in a "cruel and unnecessary act" at their home in Pentre Gwyn and then washed the knife in her kitchen sink. In October 2023, Wronska denied killing her partner and said the 40-year-old victim had a history of self-harming and had previously attempted suicide.

    The latest Welsh wildfire has closed a popular road in Wales. The grass fire is in Gwynedd, broke out on grassland near Blaenau Ffestiniog, on Sunday afternoon. The nearby A496 road has been closed by North Wales Police as emergency services are in attendance. Multiple crews have been dispatched to the scene by the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS).

    A staggering 60 bags of rubbish were filled in just two hours by volunteers at a beauty spot in Gwynedd. As part of Keep Wales Tidy's Spring Clean Cymru, 30 collectors took to the beach in Pwllheli. The Harbwr Bach in Pwllheli is now significantly cleaner after the litter pick which was made possible thanks to the efforts of local conservation group Ffrindiau Pwllheli.
