WINDY AND UNSETTLED WEATHER

Today will be mostly cloudy with an increasing chance for showers as the day wears on. Highs will be in the upper 60’s. A weak cold front moves through overnight bringing the showers to an end. A few lingering clouds will hang around Saturday morning before skies gradually clear and sunshine returns. It breezy north winds and cooler air will hold highs in the upper 50’s. A mix of sun and clouds is expected through the weekend although it looks dry.
UNSETTLED PATTERN DEVELOPING

Today will be mostly sunny but with increasing clouds this afternoon. High will be in the upper 40’s to around 50. Light precipitation is expected late tonight into Friday as a disturbance moves across the area. There is a very small possibility for the precipitation to begin as snow or a rain/snow mix. It will be a showery, wet Friday. But rainfall amounts will be on the light side with between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
SEVERE THREAT DIMINISHED

We start our week with our spring like pattern continuing. After a nice weekend that was quite windy at times, Monday will have increasing clouds and warmer with highs in the low to mid 70’s. South southwest winds may be a little gusty at times in the afternoon and will continue to blow all night and increase. A cold front and storm system will approach the region by Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully the severe threat has greatly diminished from what it looked like a few days ago.
WINTER IS STILL COMING

Our Friday starts off mostly cloudy with a few showers this morning. Highs in the lower 60’s, may be warmer if the sun pops out in the afternoon. Wind gusts will relax some Friday morning compared to Thursday with southerly winds around 10-15 mph. An area of showers and even a few thunderstorms is likely to develop tonight ahead of a cold front. That cold front pushes through the entire region late Friday night into Saturday morning.
DRASTIC CHANGES COMING

It has not been too bad out there today. At least the sun came out even if it was a little chilly. Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high in the upper 50’s. A passing weak disturbance may bring in a few clouds overnight before clearing skies return to end the week. We end the week, with dry conditions continuing Friday and Saturday. Highs will warm a bit each day, reaching the low to possibly mid-60s for many by Saturday afternoon. That will probably give many folks a taste of spring fever.
INCREASING SNOW CHANCES

The storm currently affecting the region continues to put down widespread rains. Thankfully the high winds did not happen overnight. The cold front has now started to push into far western Kentucky. As it moves across the area this afternoon, winds are increasing ahead of it. A period of scattered light rain or drizzle will follow the front. As the colder air arrives, a period of light rain then snow showers will develop this evening.

We begin our Monday with partly sunny skies, with a high in the mid 40’s. Clouds will steadily increase through the afternoon ahead of an approaching strong storm system. The storm will deepen and spread rain across the area. In addition to the onset of rain, winds will strengthen out of the southeast overnight as the storm moves closer to the region. Widespread rain will be ongoing Tuesday with rainfall amounts of more than an inch with locally around 2 inches possible.

With high pressure sliding off to the east, we`ll begin a moderating pattern for the remainder of the week. Southerly flow will help highs reach back into the 50s Wednesday where they`ll stay each day into the weekend. A disturbance will lift across the region by weeks end, spreading shower chance across the area. Rainfall will be light with less than a quarter inch expected.
QUIET WEATHER WEEK

With high pressure in control, our quiet weather pattern will continue through the week. Skies will be mostly sunny Wednesday with highs in the upper 40’s to near 50. Thursday into Friday, a high pressure ridge will build in and gradually shift eastward. Highs will begin to rebound on Thursday, thanks to ample sunshine and light easterly winds in place. By Friday, southeasterly flow will help us add a degree or two to high temperatures.
A STORM IS COMING - NOTHING WINTRY YET

Nice to see the sun today even if it was cool. But on Monday, clouds return with a few shower chances in the morning. Overall, our weather pattern will pretty much remain unchanged through mid-week. This means several disturbances will continue to pass through the area with more clouds and small chances for rain. None of them will have much moisture to work with, but a shower or two is possible.
