Local & CommunityNBC Palm Springs Anchor Olivia Sandusky was awarded an Emmy® Award for one of her 30-minute news specials highlighting the efforts to save and restore the Salton Sea. The special, produced by Sandusky last year, dives into the struggles and triumphs at the Salton Sea, including lithium, wetlands and the 10-year plan.  It was first broadcast on NBC Palm Springs in spring 2024, and led to another follow-up special later that year.

Beauty and talent arrive in Butte, Montana, this June for the Miss Montana and Miss Teen Montana pageants. The 2025 pageants are June 20-21 at the Mother Lode Theatre. This is the 75th year of the Miss Montana pageants. This year's 75th anniversary celebration includes two nights of competition and an all-new theme: "DIAMOND DISCO: Sparkling for 75 Years."The current Miss Montana, Kaylee Wolfensberger will hand off her crown at this year's pageant.

Good things can spring from humble beginnings in Missoula. That's how it worked out for two University of Montana graduates. Steven Rinella (above, left) and Eric Sprunk, will receive honorary doctorates from their alma mater during UM Spring Commencement ceremonies May 10.
