To put it even more starkly, are photographs—and, by extension, videos on YouTube, Instagram, Tik Tok, and the rest—contexts for the nurturing of solidarity or, instead, are they forms of socially acceptable voyeurism? Take as a concrete example the two photos, well-known throughout Ukraine, of the Azovstal defender Mykhailo Dianov.
