4 DISCUSSION Advanced cSCC is defined as either locally unresectable, deeply invasive (involving muscle, nerve or bone structures), unresectable regional lymph-node disease or presence of distant metastases requiring systemic treatment.12, 13 However, detailed guidelines on treatment and follow-up schedule for high-risk patients with HNcSCC have not yet been established, and hence, evidence-based consensus regarding adjuvant treatments for these patients are lacking.
