Mountain View senior Landon Solaas will further his football career after committing to Chadron State College as a kicker. Solaas was a three-year varsity starter and letter-winner for the Buffalos. He was an all-state selection his senior season in 2024 and a two-time all-conference pick during his prep career. Solaas played tight end and defensive end at MVHS. He was also the kicker. Landon has been selected to play for the South Team at the Wyoming Shrine Bowl in June 2025.

The 2025 Wyoming prep soccer season for the ladies is in Week 5. With the holiday weekend approaching, most teams will be off the pitch by Thursday, except for one match. There are some rivalry games on the slate. Plus, three will feature ranked teams squaring off. Of course, the new polls will be out on Wednesday. The busiest days are Tuesday and Thursday. 2025 WYOPREPS GIRLS' SOCCER SCHEDULE IN WEEK 5Here are the matches in Week 5. Schedules are subject to change.

A softball player and track athlete are the WyoPreps Athletes of the Week, presented by Premier Bone and Joint Centers. Following last week’s performances, April 7 through April 13, 2025, Thunder Basin senior Paige Shaffer and Midwest senior Quincy Paris were selected for the weekly awards. Shaffer led No. 2 Thunder Basin to a 5-1 week with a perfect record in the circle and a near .700 batting average on the softball diamond.

Worland senior Trajn Swalstad has signed to run cross-country and track at Eastern Washington University. Swalstad has won six state championships during his prep career in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. He won the 3A state cross-country championship last fall and led Worland to its first team title by one point. Swalstad was undefeated in the state during the fall 2024 season.

The WyoPreps Coaches and Media Soccer Polls saw three teams re-enter the rankings on Wednesday. Both the Buffalo girls and boys in Class 3A and the Natrona County girls in 4A. The Bison moved into the fifth spot in both 3A polls. Natrona County slid back into fifth in 4A. The top-ranked teams did not change. Powell and Kelly Walsh held the top spot in the girls’ polls. Cody and Jackson remained No. 1 in the boys’ rankings. All four divisions saw more movement within the top five.
