Twelve months ago, the singer lifted the trophy for their song The Code, an operatic pop track about their journey to realising they were non-binary. It was the first victory for a non-binary performer in Eurovision history and the first for Switzerland since Céline Dion won in 1988.

    The Lady, Britain's longest-running women's magazine, has formally announced that it has ceased publication. The magazine is famed for its etiquette advice and adverts for butlers, nannies and discreet liaisons with well-heeled 60-somethings. In a statement, the publishers confirmed recent media reports that the April edition of the magazine will be the last, but added that the website with its jobs board and recruitment agency will continue.

Match of the Day has, extraordinarily, had just five main presenters in its history - with Gary Lineker being in the hot seat for the past 26 years.

    Salford University's Centenary Building, which won Britain's most prestigious architectural award when it was first built, is to be demolished. The building was the inaugural winner of the Stirling Prize in 1996, but has been vacant for the past eight years. Judges had once declared it Britain's best new building, saying it was "a dynamic, modern and sophisticated exercise in steel, glass and concrete".

Research by the broadcast regulator Ofcom reveals 71% of the population said they used online services for news versus 70% for TV news bulletins. Over the last year, online sources grew from 68% to 71%, while social media also saw a rise from 47% to 52%.
