President Biden has selected John Podesta to replace John Kerry as the United States’ top international climate representative. Podesta is currently a White House adviser leading the clean energy elements of the Inflation Reduction Act and will remain in that role while becoming the senior adviser to the president for international climate policy. Kerry, who is the U.S. climate envoy, has said he will step down later this year but has not given an official date.

DuPont de Nemours, and Chemours are among a group of chemical manufacturers that won a significant case regarding PFAS contamination as a federal court in Ohio rejected a previous ruling against the companies. That ruling by a lower court essentially included every resident of Ohio in a class action lawsuit against the chemical companies.
