LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, Apr. 8 is the subject of today’s Weather Wednesday. The moon is going to pass between the Earth and the sun and cast a shadow over a good chunk of the country. We’re going to be in what’s called the penumbra, which means we will see a partial eclipse here in Mid-Michigan. Use the slider to see two forecast models 6 News uses which are showing where clouds could be during the eclipse on Monday afternoon.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — High temperatures aren’t the only thing in the forecast for the week, there is also a significant risk of severe storms in the area Wednesday, according to 6 News meteorologist David Young. “On a scale of 0-5 this is a level 3 day”, Young said. Damaging winds, tornados, large hail, and heavy rain will all be possible. The first round of storms will come in just after noon and will likely not be severe, Young said.
