Sunny Saturday with temps peaking in the mid 40s BALTIMORE-- A series of fast moving systems will bring rapid changes to the forecast this week. After a cold, damp, gray day Sunday, expect warmer temperatures and a little bit of sunshine Monday and Tuesday. Sunday has a chilly easterly wind off the bay along with a thick overcast bringing us a chilly and raw feeling to the day. Highs Sunday afternoon only will top out in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

The South Breakwater in Aberdeen, Scotland, is a popular spot to watch waves. In stormy conditions, the breakwater is battered, creating interesting waves and cascading water over the wall. This shot was taken after a few days of stormy weather. The day before, I had travelled into Aberdeen, driving along the beach promenade. In the distance, I could see the huge waves crashing over the sea wall. I was gutted that I had missed out on those amazing conditions.

The Arctic air that plagued the region for the past day will persist tonight and into the weekend BALTIMORE -- A frontal system pushing through the Great Lakes region is producing intermittent cloud cover this weekend. As the upper level system pushes through, expect breezy and warmer conditions to return Sunday. Behind that front, gulf moisture starts to push into the region. This will bring rain to Maryland for Monday through Wednesday.

Thick high clouds for your Saturday, temps peak in the low 60's BALTIMORE -- A bit dreary to wake up Sunday morning with overcast conditions to start, the sun will break through in the afternoon. Expect highs to be in the low 60s. Chilly nights but above average days continue through Monday, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 60s under partly cloudy skies. Dry weather will continue into Tuesday, with high temperatures near 60.

Baltimore-area residents may soon see something they haven’t seen much of in a while: Rain. Forecasters say to expect light showers or drizzle early Sunday, with heavier rain in the afternoon and evening. There’s a 70% chance of rain with a high temperature of 60 degrees. Rainfall amounts are expected to be relatively light, with steady rain leading to totals of between a quarter and a half-inch. “More than likely we’re not looking at a deluge, maybe about a quarter of an inch or so of rain.
