The echidna is an egg-laying, insect-eating mammal that is a native species to Lungtalanana Island off the coast of Tasmania in Australia. It is also known as a trimanya among Tasmanian Aboriginal people. After a wildfire devastated the island in 2014, conservationists believed that the animal was locally extinct.

Coca-Cola, the world's largest soft drink company, has committed to disclosing its investments in reusable bottles and the outcomes of these efforts. The company announced this after receiving pressure from investors at the environmental activist fund Green Century. "This new commitment to disclosing reusable packaging investments and results will help investors track the company's efforts to mitigate plastic-related risks," Leslie Samuelrich, president of Green Century, said in a press release.

In the subreddit r/GardeningUK, which is dedicated to sharing plant advice among U.K. gardeners, one user asked for advice after a neighbor complained about leaves falling into their backyard. "My old neighbour knocked on the door to complain that she has to remove the leaves from my garden that [are] getting in her garden," the user posted.

A Milwaukee man was hit with a steep fine after he was caught illegally dumping thousands of tires in a vacant lot multiple times. Dennis Bowen, 41, was caught discarding tires in the lot at least five times by wardens from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, according to WISN. The wardens wrote him a littering citation for each instance of illegal dumping, costing him a total of $3,855.
