Volunteers with the Daughters of the American Revolution came out for their annual event to celebrate our past and present veterans. '' You could see the love on some of these veterans faces. Last week saw several rounds of heavy precipitation that impacted the region. While there will a few days with reported rain, showers will be less intense and there will be a dry period this week. An upper level disturbance will trigger isolated showers on Monday. These showers are likely to be brief and light. High pressure will take charge for the next few days causing dry conditions, plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures.

Hurricane Debby swamped the east with torrential rains that lead numerous flooding . As we close the door on Debby, forecasters have turned their eyes a disturbance east of the Caribbean with a high chance of becoming the next named storm, Ernesto. Conditions ahead are primed for intensification, especially with the bathtub waters in the path.

As of 10pm Eastern Time on Sunday, Tropical Storm is near hurricane strength with winds of 70 mph. Further strengthening is likely before landfall in the Big Bend area Monday morning. The National Hurricane Center is calling for a 85 mph hurricane upon landfall on Monday. The biggest concern with Debby is a week's long worth life-threatening flooding in several states. The steering pattern, which moves weather systems, is going to collapse near the Southeastern US.
