In 2024, California Gov. Gavin Newsom proudly made California the first state to offer medical care for people who entered the country illegally and reside in the Golden State. However, the cost, estimated at almost $8 billion, is being paid by all taxpayers, not just Californians. Do people in Texas, North Carolina, and Illinois want to fund California’s 700,000 illegal immigrants? They don’t have a choice.

President Trump issued an executive order in February, titled “Empowering Patients Through Radical Price Transparency,” that promises to dramatically lower prices using the free market. Trump says his executive order will allow Americans to learn “the real price of health care services … so they can shop for the highest-quality care at the lowest cost.”Although the goal is laudable, price transparency simply will not work as Trump claims — in fact, it cannot.

DOGE can accomplish two triumphs with one bold act. Musk and his team can balance the U.S. budget and simultaneously fix health care. Defund the wasteful, unnecessary, illegitimate, and yet ever-expanding federal healthcare regulatory apparatus.
Healthcare is distinctly different from health (or medical) care. Healthcare as one word is a massive regulatory, economic system with tens of millions of employees (mostly bureaucrats) that cost American taxpayers $4.9 trillion in 2024.

President Donald Trump faces many problems left by the outgoing Biden administration. One of them is the world’s most expensive health-care system, as millions of Americans struggle to access timely, quality care. In 2024, the nation spent an astonishing $4.9 trillion on health care — more than the entire GDP of Japan.

It may initially seem over-the-top hyperbole to compare Dr. Anthony Fauci to Josef Mengele, MD, the “Angel of Death” in Auschwitz. The facts prove that Fauci is at least in his league, if not worse. Fauci harmed or killed more people. He decimated public trust in federal medical institutions. Fauci acted solely to benefit his ego and his wallet. Mengele was working for what he believed was the greater good, admittedly of the Aryan race at the expense of all untermenschen (slave races).
