ROCHESTER, N.Y. – News10NBC has been investigating the eviction of elderly and disabled residents from Hudson Ridge and Danforth Towers in Rochester. These residents were given just 10 days to find another place to live after a program supporting them abruptly closed last month. Georgia Johnson, an 80-year-old resident, has packed her belongings but cannot move because a nonprofit organization still controls her money.

But an alarming opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal has those who are tech-savvy asking some tough questions. The Wall Street Journal’s headline says it all: “AI Is Learning to Escape Human Control.” It describes how a non-profit AI lab gave its model a simple script that was supposed to shut off the model.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Car buying increased by more than 17% in March as people flocked to dealerships before the Trump tariffs took effect. If you’re considering buying a car, it’s crucial not to rush the process. Most dealerships have an inventory that lasts 60 to 75 days. Although many cars on lots are currently tariff-free, demand has driven prices up. In April, new car prices rose 2.5%, and used car prices increased by 2.7%.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Anyone who has packed bins and boxes to move to a new home knows moving is always stressful. So, imagine what it was like for elderly and disabled residents who were told they had less than two weeks to move. “All I can tell you is it’s very stressful. Very stressful for all the residents. They were made to move in 10 days without any kind of knowing why,” said Bonnie Allsup, a resident. We now know why. The residents were participants in the Enriched Housing Program.
