    SIOUX CENTER—Dordt University will host a small ensemble concert featuring two student-led groups and two faculty-led groups at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, in B.J. Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center. The percussion ensemble, led by Tori Ensink and comprised of the top six chairs in the Wind Symphony at Dordt, will perform “Celebration II,” a lively marimba piece by Daiki Kato played by five percussionists.

Join area birders to look and listen for migrating songbirds including warblers, vireos, grosbeaks and thrushes. Bring a bird guide or binoculars if you have them.     HAWARDEN—Sioux County Conservation will offer Landscaping for Wildlife 10-11 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at Prairie Woods Nature Center at Oak Grove Park near Hawarden. Inviting wildlife into your yard can be a rewarding experience for you and the wildlife. Learn how and why to bring nature closer to home. This program is presented by Rock Valley’s Siouxland Prairie Farms. There will be native plants available for purchase after the program, from 11 a.m.-noon. Preregister at www.siouxcountyparks.org.

    SIOUX CENTER—Sioux County Conservation, Sioux County Sportsmen’s Club and the Sioux Center Public Library are hosting a free family fishing clinic 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 14, at Sandy Hollow Recreational Area east of Sioux Center. The program will include fishing instruction, fishing, a casting contest, lunch and giveaways. Fishing poles and bait will be provided or bring your own. All ages are welcome with ages 8 and under needing to have an adult present.
