    The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has objected to the Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association (SCAORA) exceeding its mandate by taking up issues concerning infrastructure, facilities and matters related to general bar members of the Supreme Court. The SCBA consists of all lawyers who practice at the Supreme Court and has around 10,000 permanent members and 12,000 temporary members.

    The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Tuesday issued a press statement taking exception to the Central government’s move to operationalize the Waqf Umeed Portal from June 6. The press statement alleged that the move by the government is illegal and amounts to contempt of court since the law backing it - the Waqf (Amendment) Act of 2025 - is currently under challenged before the Supreme Court.
