The Supreme Court recently adjourned hearing in a bail matter after a counsel appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government appeared "clueless" and made submissions from a wrong brief. A bench of Justices Hrishikesh Roy and SVN Bhatti passed the order, following the counsel expressing an apology, and directed that the matter be listed on January 29. "To enable the counsel for the State of Uttar Pradesh to prepare himself, the matter be listed on 29.01.2025", read the order.
