The five-day auction of the second parcel of property at Haystack Mountain, 5655 Niwot Road, concluded on Tuesday, Sept. 24, with the prevailing offer for the 105-acre site placed by Boulder County. According to Janis Whisman, Real Estate Development Manager for Boulder County Parks and Open Space, "We competed in the auction and are now under contract to purchase it and 31 shares of the Reformer New Hinman Ditch Company for their combined fair market value of $6.2 million.

For nearly a year, Niwot residents and regular visitors have been watching the progress of the restoration of the Frank Bader Home at 210 Franklin Street. The property is currently in the process of being redeveloped by Nassar Development, a company known for other historically focused restorations. The latest update from the company's founder, Larry Nassar, confirms what many can see with their eyes-that progress on the exterior is nearly complete.

This October will have marked two years since long-time Niwot resident and businessman Craig "Lefty" Harris lost his life in a traffic accident at the intersection of the Diagonal Highway and Niwot Road. A little more than two months later, ownership of the beloved 2nd Avenue pizzeria that Harris left behind, was transferred to Maricela Vasquez and her husband, Lorenzo Villalobos, Harris' beloved employee who had worked for him for more than two decades.
