I love many things about Florida, but after 11 years, I left to move back to the Midwest. My insurance costs in Florida were high and driving in our county felt dangerous and intense. I often let the state's many mosquitos, heat, and humidity deter me from going outside. After many more pleasant family vacations to the state, we left our hometown in Missouri and moved to Florida in early 2013.
I lived in Florida for a decade. The downsides just kept adding up, and now I'm back in the Midwest.

As a nature lover, I enjoy spending my free time outdoors. Three seasons are easy to maneuver in the great outdoors — and then there’s winter. During the year’s last few months, I rely on heated clothing to ensure I stay comfortable while camping, hiking, and horseback riding during the cold “burr” months of November and December.

In early 2016, I had the honor of interviewing the mighty Oak Ridge Boys. Using quotes from their answers in a magazine article, I saved the four-question interview in its entirety, and upon discovering it over the weekend, I thought I would share it with all of you. The late Joe Bonsall’s words definitely offer a different feel than when written eight years back. He was absolutely right; this quartet’s memory, talent and music will long on forever. Here’s a look back at the interview.
