Archaeologists in West Texas have made an astonishing discovery which sheds light on the lives of prehistoric humans in America, Ancient Origins reported. Researchers with the Center for Big Bend Studies as part of a collaboration with the University of Kansas’ Odyssey Archaeological Research Fund found immaculately preserved atlatl-based hunting tools in a hunting kit believed to be about 4,500 years old.

Archaeologists working in Egypt have unearthed a previously undiscovered school in the grand mortuary temple of Pharaoh Ramesses II, dubbed the Ramesseum, on the West Bank of Luxor in the Theban Necropolis. The “Per Ankh,” or House of Life, was likely attended by aristocratic children of high social standing where they were taught business and governmental skills. Researchers have long speculated about the school’s presence within the Ramesseum, but hard evidence has been elusive until now.

A recent archaeological discovery in Ukraine has rewritten the timeline for when human beings began using ivory to construct tools and other items. Previously, the use of ivory was thought to date back about 120,000 years. But a new study, published in the International Journal of Osteoarchaeology, analyzed artifacts from the Lower Paleolithic era found at the Medzhibozh A site in Ukraine and determined they date back as many as 400,000 years.

An Australian man appeared in court earlier this week to address charges of disorderly conduct stemming from a March incident in which he allegedly punched the wall of the airport terminal while under the influence of alcohol, a press release from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) reported. The 37-year-old was reportedly visibly intoxicated when he boarded the flight, leading flight attendants to request he be removed from the plane.

Former Australia's Next Top Model star Lucy Markovic has died at 27, her family announced Thursday on her Instagram Stories. "I regret to inform you that Lucy has passed,” the statement began. "She was at peace…We ask you to please give us space in these hard times. May Lucy rest in peace," it concluded alongside an angel emoji. Markovic placed as runner-up in 2015 on Australia’s Next Top Model.
