One Ohio State football commit is getting some comparisons to really good players. Each time a recruit commits to Ohio State, you’ll see opinions on who he may compare to on the current roster. Last week, when offensive lineman Tucker Smith committed and I looked at his size, ranking, etc., guard Austin Siereveld came to mind immediately. But the name being mentioned when comparing OSU’s latest commitment, safety Blaine Bradford, to a current Buckeye is not one tossed around lightly. Caleb Downs.

The Crew is fortunate to have a player like the veteran goalkeeper. An aging veteran who can provide leadership and be a mentor to younger players. A guy who can also still get it done on the field when his team needs him to step in and play. Every team needs a guy like this. Every team needs an Evan Bush. When the Crew announced in December they had signed the veteran goalkeeper for another season, I’m sure it caught many fans by surprise.

The Ohio State women's hockey team did not suffer an unjust loss. Wisconsin’s celebration had barely begun before Ohio State fans took to social media to protest the women’s hockey team’s loss in the NCAA championship game. Well, protest is an understatement. They screamed like banshees that the referees had cheated the Buckeyes and cost them a second straight national title. I’m sorry Buckeye fans, but that simply did not happen, because the Ohio State women’s hockey team did not get cheated.

The Ohio State football team is still in the hunt for the best recruit in the state of Ohio. When it comes to the top recruit in Ohio and his interest in the Buckeyes, the sky is not falling. Let’s all calm down because Ryan Day and his staff are still very much in the running to land Elbert Hill from Akron Hoban. Hill created quite a stir among Ohio State fans when he announced official visits to four schools and the Buckeyes were not one of them.

The Ohio State football team is projected to land a good in-state linebacker. With Cody Simon’s eligibility ending and Gabe Powers transferring to Kansas State, Ohio State is looking to add a few linebackers to keep their roster fully stocked. Although they do not yet have any committed to their 2026 recruiting class, the Buckeyes did get a Crystal Ball prediction to land one from Ohio. Alan Trieu of 247Sports has predicted the Buckeyes will land C.J. Sanna of Olentangy High School.

The young receiver should be open to this advice. When you’re a young phenom like Jeremiah Smith, you’re going to get career advice from a vast myriad of sources. Regardless of his generational talent, whose advice he chooses to follow can possibly make or break his career. When it comes to the idea of leaving Ohio State early and entering the NFL Draft, Smith needs to ignore those who don’t know and listen to the advice of a former Buckeye who does know.

With the club in need of goal scorers, the Crew may be zeroing in on a target. The talk among Columbus Crew fans and media began almost immediately after the news broke. Who will the club find to replace Cucho? After two weeks of waiting, a name has finally surfaced. Late last week, Wilson Pimentel of RTI Esporte reported the Crew has identified Flaco Lopez, a forward from Brazilan power Palmeiras, as a target. The key word here is target.

Ohio State is blessed to have three of the top twenty offensive tackles in the 2026 recruiting cycle in their backyard. After winning a national title, you’d think it would be easy getting one or even all three to commit to the Buckeyes. But that’s not the case in this new Wild West era of NIL. Ryan Day and new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen are in a desperate fight to land any of the three.

The running back made sure to quiet all of his critics this season after winning a national championship. When he announced he was transferring from Ole Miss, they claimed it was a great day for the Rebel football program. They claimed he was a locker room cancer and a disruption. They said he yelled at his teammates and would have been kicked off the team if he were not a good player. They questioned if he could get along and share a backfield with TreVeyon Henderson.
