    1961: The Milwaukee Braves set a major league record with four consecutive home runs by Eddie Mattews, Hank Aaron, Joe Adcock and Frank Thomas against the Reds. Matthews and Aaron homer off starter Jim Maloney. Adcock and Thomas homer off reliever Marshall Bridges. Despite the feat, the Braves lost 10-8. 1978: The Atlanta Braves select Bob Horner with the No. 1 overall pick in the 78 Draft. Horner will go straight to the major leagues becoming the first No. 1 overall pick to do so.

The game eventually was decided in extra innings and a wild pitch is what ended up handing a 5-4 win to the Giants in this one. I can’t imagine that anybody in Braves Country was enthused about the way this game started.
