But Andrew Huberman, an associate professor of neurobiology at the Stanford School of Medicine, believed he could improve people’s lives. In December 2020, with his beloved 10-year-old, 90-pound bullmastiff, Costello, at his side, he recorded the podcast’s introduction in a studio cobbled together in a closet.
