It’s not that I denied watching “Degrassi Junior High” when it premiered in the mid-1980s. I just didn’t scream my unbridled affection for it from a school gym roof. And if I did let it slip to my peers that I knew the words to its clunky theme song, I said that I only watched ironically, agreeing (lying) that “Degrassi” was the epitome of overtly earnest Canadian teen TV. The way only a smug and full-of-oneself 20-something could. Already a Subscriber?
