The two spots up for grabs in phase 2 of the Co-op SuperStores Premier SHC divisions and colleges section will be claimed tonight. With county champions Imokilly and UCC having received byes to the four-team second stage – from which one side will progress to the quarter-finals of the championship proper – Avondhu, Carbery, Duhallow and Muskerry entered at the initial round. A fortnight ago, Muskerry overcame Duhallow in Muskerry while Avondhu got the better of Carbery in Ballinlough.

Bandon’s Robert O’Driscoll is one of the youngest club team managers in the county but his debut season has gone well so far. On Sunday, the Lilywhites beat Glanmire to secure promotion from Division 4 of the McCarthy Insurance Group Football League, setting up a clash with Aghabullogue in the final. A 3-10 to 0-8 victory for the hosts at Charlie Hurley Park gave them second place in the table.

Cork's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Dublin is set to be another sell-out. Tickets for the last-four clash at Croke Park on Saturday, July 5, which has a 5pm throw-in time, went on general sale at 12 noon on Monday and by 1.30pm the only limited availability remained in the Nally Stand.

Cork manager Pat expects to have close to a full squad to choose from for what he terms “a huge challenge” in the the All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Dublin. The quarter-final results at the weekend confirmed that it will the Dubs that Cork face at Croke Park on Saturday week, July 5, with the game having a 5pm throw-in time. Leinster champions Kilkenny face Tipperary the following day (4pm).

Bandon secured promotion and a place in the final of Division 4 of the McCarthy Insurance Group Football League as they saw off Glanmire at Charlie Hurley Park on Sunday morning. Going into this clash – a rehearsal for the Premier IFC opener in five weeks – the Lilywhites knew that any victory would be enough to take second place and set up a final meeting with Aghabullogue.
