Ardfinnan village is mourning the loss of Babs MacNamara. Babs was the driving force behind the Tidy Towns for many years and did fantastic work. We offer her family our deepest condolences and sympathies.

With the clocks going back and the long nights in, street lights are everyone's best friend when walking around the village. Safety is paramount with so many people out walking the village in the late evenings and the old motto of "be safe be seen" comes to mind. At this moment in time eight of our street lights are not working within the village and some of these are out for three months or more. These have been reported through normal methods and still no reply or any lights being fixed.

After 27 years as a postman and many of which were spent with the people of Ardfiinan Tom Parker will be set to retire next February. As part of his pre-retirement he will leave his Ardfinnan round this week and return to Clonmel. Tom is known to all here in the village and will be missed along with his smile and his endless happy demeanor as he delivered the post.

ARDFINNAN PLAYGROUNDThe playground has been a huge hit with young children and their families since it opened. Recently a malfunction of a security gate caused the playground to be closed for a period of time and it was missed by those who use it regularly. These breakdowns can happen and are par for the course. What can be avoided is theft and vandalism. There is a swing specially for those children who can't use the normal swings and it comes with safety harnesses for the safety of the users.

Ardfinnan’s Mega Family Funday on - Saturday, June 15The line-up has been finalised and plans put in place for Ardfinnan’s Mega Family Funday 2024 on Saturday, June 15. This year we are going bigger, we are going better and we are going louder. We have one main stage and two big screens provided by Stage Coaster who cater for all major festivals throughout the country. Our line-up is as follows, 1 pm = Gates Open. Outdoor Movies, 2 pm = Sing 2 4 pm = Lyle Lyle Crocodile.
