1 Introduction Recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs) significantly affect the health and quality of life (QOL) of people with neurogenic lower urinary tract dysfunction (NLUTD) due to spinal cord injury and/or disease (SCI/D) [1]. More specifically, incontinence, UTIs and bladder management challenges can adversely impact bladder related QOL and overall patient outcomes [2-5].

AbstractRetrospective case/control longitudinal cohort studyPrevalent traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) is associated with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia (ADRD). We examined the hazard ratio for ADRD after incident TSCI and hypothesized that ADRD hazard is greater among adults with incident TSCI compared with their matched control of adults without TSCI.
