Council asked to renew downtown districtFINDLAY — Legislation to renew the operation of the Downtown Findlay Improvement District has been introduced to city council. The legislation was introduced at council's Aug. 6 regular meeting. The district notified council of its intent to seek a five-year renewal in January. The special improvement district is funded through tax assessments of district members.

Sheetz site annexed to FindlayFINDLAY — Findlay City Council voted to approve the Sheetz annexation at its regular meeting on Tuesday, but the vote wasn't unanimous. The lot is located northwest of the Hancock County Road 212-Allen Township Road 230 intersection. Annexation of the 77.8 acres will also qualify the company for a city tax exemption on the $150 million facility it plans to build there.
