A Florida man arrested on suspicion of weapons violations on Halloween had a list of targets that included a congressman and locations he associated with Jewish and Black people, prosecutors allege. John Lapinski, 41, was jailed without bail on federal charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing an unregistered gun suppressor. It wasn't clear Tuesday whether Lapinski has legal counsel for the matter.

The man accused of sucker-punching women in seemingly random attacks in a span of weeks in Manhattan was arrested and faces hate crime charges, according to police. Daquan Armstead was led out in handcuffs from the police stationhouse on Tuesday. When asked why he had allegedly attacked at least seven women since March, he said "they spit on me."But police said that is not true. Armstead was accused of punching women in the head, face and back in different locations around the Lower East Side.

A St. Louis woman who officials say made her 8-year-old son drive, with her toddler in the backseat, while she was passed out has been charged with child endangerment. St. Louis prosecutors filed two counts of felony child endangerment against Latonya Mayes-Gale, 28, on Monday, the day of her arrest. One of the counts pertains to the boy; the other concerns her 3-year-old, who was unsecured in the backseat, according to charging documents.

A Denver-area teenager was charged Monday with trying to help terrorists after he allegedly planned to travel to the Middle East in order to become a soldier for the Islamic State terrorist group. The defendant, Humzah Mashkoor, 18, of Westminster, Colo., was charged in a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Colorado with knowingly providing or attempting or conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization.
