Western Australian rains finally arrive: Following a dry run that spanned since late last year, rains finally covered WA last week and more are to come. The rains that have already fallen improved the trajectory of the season significantly. For context, there are four cropping zones in WA: Esperance (14% of this year’s area planted), Albany (20%), Kwinana (52%) and Geraldton (14%). In Esperance, recent rains (~40mm) have improved prospects markedly.
