Marin Catholic’s Theo Anderson packed up his golf bag and headed home from Rohnert Park with a little extra hardware from Monday’s North Coast Section Division II tournament. Anderson posted the second-lowest score of the day to punch his ticket to the NCS D-I tournament next week at Rancho Solano Golf Course in Fairfield. His 1-over 73 helped carry the Wildcats to third place in the team scoring. Anderson shot a 71 when the tournament was last played at Foxtail in 2023.

May 11-Tam High's Johanna Friedrichsdorf had the kind of day she'd been dreaming of, with a record-setting win the 400 meter at the MCAL Championship Meet, hosted by San Marin High. The day was all the sweeter for the Tam sophomore, however, as the Red-tailed Hawks clinched the pennant. Friedrichsdorf ran a personal best to win the 400 (57.03) ahead of Branson senior Imogen Brown (58.88).

The Red-tailed Hawks were cheering from the sideline as Tam High senior Nate Wanger took the baton and, with Marin Catholic’s Jarred Geissberger on his heels, kicked into overdrive for a split-second win in the 4×100 meter relay as the Hawks clocked in at 43.59 seconds. That was the start to a thrilling day for the Hawks, who beat Redwood for the MCAL Championship meet crown Saturday at San Marin High. Tam scored 155 points to Redwood’s second-place 120 points. San Marin was third with 94 points.

The San Rafael Pacifics have been an anchor in an ever-changing Pecos League Pacific Division since joining the league in 2021.
