In a first for Kenya’s 61 years as a republic, the presidency declined to assent to a Finance Bill in June 2024 throwing future finance plans for the government into disarray.

Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos on Monday assured parents, students, and teachers that the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) will no longer cancel entire centers' national exams if malpractice is detected. Instead, the CS noted that the examiner will handle cheating cases on an individual basis to ensure that no collateral damages are incurred.

CCTV footage that captured the shooting of a man allegedly meeting his girlfriend in Eastleigh emerged on Sunday, November 10. Earlier reports indicated that the deceased, Abdullahi Ibrahim who was aged 25 years, was meeting his girlfriend when the incident took place. The reports further showed that the victim was shot just below the ear and that assistance was delayed leading to his death.

The government, through the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA), announced that it had embarked on the exercise of removing two ships abandoned in Malindi. The two vessels were abandoned in 2020 by a foreign tycoon of Korean descent and have been an eyesore to the community ever since. KMA DG Julius Koech, in the Gazette Notice, noted that the vessels were an obstruction and danger to navigation and their removal was paramount.
