“The defense played great. We threw some double-teams out there at the right times and forced them to make errors, never to let them have a thought of being in it,” Lambert head coach John Spaide said. “The energy shifted to offense, and that was great.”With the win, the Longhorns advanced to the state quarterfinals where they will host Brookwood on May 5 or 6. The Blue Devils finished the season 13-6. It wasn’t a fast start for either team.

SUWANEE -- Chrislet Petihomme stopped a penalty kick with 10 seconds to play to lift Campbell to a 2-1 victory over Lambert in the second round of the Class AAAAAA state playoffs on Wednesday. The victory advanced the Spartans to the state quarterfinals where they will host Discovery on May 6. It was the second straight season in which Campbell downed Lambert in the playoffs. The Spartans won 3-2 in last year's state quarterfinals on their way to an appearance in the state championship game.
