    Maine-born musician Role Model is on the rise, and as he’s been out on the road, he has developed a fun concert tradition: While performing his biggest song, “Sally, When The Wine Runs Out,” he invites somebody to join him on stage and dance during the bridge. It’s usually an ordinary member of the audience, but he’s been able to get some famous folks in on the fun, too, including Reneé Rapp and SNL star Bowen Yang, the latter happening during a Tonight Show performance in April.

    Benson Boone, in case you missed it, likes to do flips. Here he is doing one on The Tonight Show a few days ago. That appearance was part of the reason he was in New York City last week, and the other was to perform at the Governors Ball festival, where, yes, he did some more flips. Fan-shot videos like this one show that Boone did his first flip mere seconds into his set. Complex also noted that he did five back flips during his first four songs.

    When it comes to contemporary pop stars, Olivia Rodrigo is as rock-adjacent as they come. Her hits have more electric guitar than synths and she’s clearly an appreciator of rock history, too, which she displayed at the Governors Ball festival this past weekend. Towards the end of her main set, she delivered a cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” and she was joined by David Byrne himself.
