Monique is one of 60 supervisors that we interviewed about their work life. She works at a local municipality. Her department deals with homeowners’ permits. The department is meant to have five people, but two vacancies have not been filled because of a hiring freeze. Monique has been trying to manage with her remaining team of three. That has been difficult. One of the workers is working full-time from home due to accommodations, and the other two are working from home some of the time.
