    BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - April 11 is recognized as World Parkinson’s Day, with one Coast church taking the time to spread awareness. Inside the Beauvoir United Methodist Church, a small group meets on the second Tuesday of every month to talk about the neurodegenerative disease. Conversations revolve around treatments, programs and raising general awareness. These meetings are organized by Nancy Carstens, an ambassador for the Parkinson’s Foundation Gulf Coast Chapter.

    BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - You might know the saying: a picture is worth a thousand words. That’s something past, and current Sun Herald employees know all about. Some of those who worked for Gulf Publishing met at the old Sun Herald building on Debuys Road for one last group photo before it’s set to be demolished.     JACKSON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) -More than 600 striped bass were released into Old Fort Bayou Friday morning. The Ocean Springs High School Aquaculture program has raised those fish throughout the school year and worked with the Department of Marine Resources to make this release possible. “It’s kind of sad because we’re not going to have fish anymore, but I’m happy that they are back in the wild and thriving,” junior Ally Kuluz said.
