Asymmetric fluorene-based fused-ring molecules acceptors (BTOFIC and BTFIC) were synthesized. BTOFIC and BTFIC were easily soluble in common organic solvents. The highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels (EHOMOs), the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital energy levels (ELUMOs) and the band gaps (Egs) of BTOFIC and BTFIC were -5.91, -3.87 and 2.04 eV, -5.72, -3.81 and 1.91 eV, respectively.
