The 2025 NFL draft is less than a week away. With predraft visits now officially complete for all 32 teams, all eyes now turn toward the draft’s first round, which kicks off Thursday in Green Bay (8 p.m., 6abc). With the Eagles picking 32nd after winning Super Bowl LIX, who should be among the players they select in Round 1?

After having Downingtown West standout Will Howard on last week, Jon Gruden welcomed Mount Laurel native and former St. Joseph’s Prep star Kyle McCord onto the fourth episode of his rebooted Gruden’s QB Class. McCord had a record-setting final college season which included setting a new ACC record for passing yards in a season, leading Syracuse to a 10-3 record, and finishing as the college football leader in completions (391), attempts (592), and passing yards (4,779).

Picking last in the first round of the NFL draft is often a crapshoot, and the Eagles are tasked with closing this draft’s initial round after winning Super Bowl LIX. For the second straight season, one of the Eagles’ NFC East rivals is drafting in the range of selecting a quarterback early in the draft process. Last year, the Washington Commanders drafted Jayden Daniels No. 2 overall, who subsequently led them to an NFC championship game appearance. This year, the New York Giants are picking No. 3 overall and could draft a young quarterback, despite signing Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in free agency.

With C.J. Gardner-Johnson being traded to the Houston Texans last month, the Eagles have a hole alongside Reed Blankenship at safety. Sydney Brown, the 2023 third-round pick, is one of the in-house replacements, but the position as a whole is lacking high-end talent as the NFL draft approaches. This year’s safety class is diverse in skill set, size, and potential NFL roles, all good signs for the Eagles, who will likely draft one to upgrade a big area of need.

RT @BrandonThornNFL: The 'true drop back pass' filter has become overplayed because of how incomplete a picture it paints of a player's ski…

21 of the #Eagles 30 visits have been announced, with #OhioState DL Tyleik Williams as the latest one. Showed the ability to defeat double teams, generate pressure by pushing the pocket, and has knock back power in the run game. More on his fit here: https://t.co/KGKb8AM0Ng

Always great to join @ESPN700 for a radio spot on the draft. Talked about where my passion for the draft comes from, favorite position group in the 2025 class, and more with @realOCsports: https://t.co/oLoTZHdsNb
