“Positive Phee” is the brainchild of Sophie Hague (above). She creates sustainable fashion events named Sip & Style. The most recent one was on March 23 at the Bivouac Adventure Lodge in North Park. Guest shopped pre-curated fashion items, including clothing, shoes, and accessories. With the price of admission, each guest received a drink and a shopping bag to fill with as many items as they could put into the bag. Hague organizes three of these events each year at different locations.

The San Diego Gaslamp Quarter presented the Gaslamp Pet Parade and Pups in the Pub Party Downtown on Dec. 14. This 16th annual event brought the holiday spirit into the historic neighborhood with pet owners and their furry friends decked out in their best holiday regalia. The crowd enjoyed vendors and free photos with Santa, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Frosty the Snowman.

The Arc of San Diego hosted the Winter Wonderland Fashion Show and Luncheon on Dec. 6 at the US Grant Hotel. This year's theme was "Marching Into the Holidays; A Nutcracker Extravaganza," which set the perfect tone for the festive occasion. The event began with a holiday shopping boutique and silent auction, offering guests an opportunity to browse and bid on unique treasures. The emcee for the afternoon was the choreographer and dance personality Mary Murphy.

She discussed her book, “Red, White, and Blue on the Runway: The 1968 White House Fashion Show and the Politics of American Style,” offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the only fashion show ever held at the White House.
