    SALT LAKE CITY—TikTok is set to be banned in the United States on Jan. 19th. On Friday, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear from TikTok’s China-based owner, ByteDance, as the company argues to stop the ban before it goes into effect. If the ban remains in place, TikTok users won’t have to do anything, said KSL Legal Analyst Greg Skordas. The app will no longer be available in app stores. The user’s provider will remove the app from your phone.

    EUREKA, Calif. (AP) — A strong earthquake was felt widely across Northern California on Thursday and authorities have issued a tsunami warning. The quake struck at 10:44 a.m. west of Ferndale, a small city in coastal Humboldt County near the Oregon border, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was felt as far south as San Francisco, where residents felt a rolling motion for several seconds. It was followed by smaller aftershocks.
